 Topic: model 80 sickle bearings

Hello everyone. A ol allis man that I came across has a snap coupler model 80 sickle for sale. He says I can have it as is for $60-70. The problem is that it is at his other farm and he believes the two bearings where the sickle board meets the body may be froze. I am sorry I do not know what these are called. His neighbor has one also that they are froze on. I may be able to get one of these very cheap if I can find the bearings for one. Any help would be great. Thank you.

If they are the same as a #7 mower, then they are not available through AGCO. The local bearing distributor also said they were discontinued. The number of the bearing is KP8, which is a bearing commonly used in the aircraft industry. I found 4 bearings for my #7 mower online from a place in Calif. They weren't cheap (but when restoring old tractors, nothings cheap, right?). They were about $35.00 a piece. I'm sure someone on here would know if the connecting link bearings are the same between a #7 & #80 mower.

3 WD45's with power steering,G,D15 fork lift,D19, W-Speed Patrol, "A" Gleaner with a 330 corn head,"66" combine,roto-baler, and lots of Snap Coupler implements to make them work for their keep.

Hi Newbe.. both sets of those bearings are available, the 2 that are on the crossbar (the bar the knifehead attaches to) You need to go to your local bearing suppler to get them.. Part # 6304 2RSJEM ,these are made by SKF Explorer, they are about $60.00 a piece. The other two which are on the connecting rods ( these rods connect the crossbar to the flywheel ) Part # KP8FS428 these are made by ITM Industrial Tectonics. these two are a lot cheaper. HTH John

I bought some from I belive Aircraft Spruce for a n 82T a while back. I will check when I get home tonight if I still have their web address.
They are air craft control plane bearings.

#7 mowers and early 80r mowers have different bearings, crossbars and connecting rods. The later movers have a cast iron cover over the bearings with and grease zerk. the #7s have a sealed bearing with no cover, Im thinking these are the ones that are hard to aquire. HTH

Check the serial # which is located on the top right of the main frame. Prior to serial # R-6101 then it would use the bearing that I mentioned in a few posts back, but if it's newer then it might take different ones. Also, if you can check and see if the crossbar bearings have a bearing cap with a grease serk then it'l be after serial #R-6101. HTH John

The older model model 7 mowers use a KP6 bearing. newer 7's and 80's use the KP8. Best source I've found is Aircraft Spruce: https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/kpbrng.php

Serial # for 80-T could be on the tounge or frame just by looking at the picture, not for sure though....
