If any of you are former Long tractor dealers, please contact me.  We have a Long/ Landtrac 550 in the shop with electrical problems and are in dire need of a wiring schematic and possibly a few parts........for this machine to be as new and low houred as it is, there have been many hands on it before it landed here!  Thank you in advance for any help

Thanks Chuck, I had found parts and operators manuals and finally found a service manual and an english speaking person to answer a few questions!!!  Guess I just needed to cry for help for a moment!......would much rather be working on something orange, but they all help pay the bills.  Thanks again

Slade, what is your opinion of the Long/Farmtrac machines? BIL has a Farmtrac 35 that may be for sale. I am afraid parts availability might be a problem.

Thanks,
Hubert

Hubert we have worked on a number of Long tractors and they are like most of them, if they are taken care of they are fine.  A guy that helps us here some said his dad has a 2610 I think that had some hyd issues but was an easy fix after they finally found someone to talk to about it......  That would be the only drawback to them, is knowledgeable service/ parts people.  We work on any color here, although we have a strong preference for orange, seem to work on almost as many Ford and MF than anything it seems.  I spend alot of time on the phone locating parts and reference material for all of them.....this particular Long has been the exception!  Its a 2000 model tractor, and has been in a number of shops......I'm just too stupid to quit until it's right, therefore the post above!! lol  Of course this tractor's owner may be the reason for the shop hopping.....he said before he got this tractor he pulled a 9' Krone disc mower with a Fordson Dexta, so therein may lay the biggest issue!!!

Check the 35 out like you would anything, if it starts, runs and operates without explanation from the owner as to why this or that has a certain way it works go for it, if not-----find you a good old orange machine :-).  hth Hubert

Long is like Allis-Chalmers they are no longer! Slade, thr Farmtrac 550 was a Korein built by LS tractor, which is now in NC and selling those tractors under their on name LS. The Framtrac 35, 45, 55, 65 tractors that look like a Ford are built in India at a old Ford plant. The old Longs that I sold were the Fait tractors made in the same plant the AC 5040 was made in Romania. Montania bought what was left of Long and when they sell the few India Farmtracs [Fords] they will be gone. The only parts they have is what was left at Long, so they have some Fait, LS, and Farmtrac [ford] parts.  I have a Farmtrac 555 and my Dad has a 2510 and a [LS] 550.  Sam T-Ga.
