I am installing new cylinder sleeves in a 226 engine, I have removed the old ones and I have never installed any cylinder sleeves or seen it done. Is there any tricks to it or anything I should know before I install them ? Thanks for any help.

Yes. first make sure the c'bore in the deck is clean and free of any irregularities, then polish up the area where the orings seal and make sure the lead in chamfer for the orings is smooth.  Now, before putting orings on the sleeve, put the sleeve in and make sure it turns freely all the way around. The sleeve should drop right in. Now is a good time to check stand out of the shoulder on the sleeve. It should be .003-.004 above the deck.
 If everything checks out, you should be able to put the orings on after lubing them up and install the sleeve. There will be interference(from the compression of the orings) in the last inch or so before they bottom out .

Might take a close look at the corner of the sleeve , up top where the shoulder is to make sure it doesn't have a radius bigger than the block.

When you install the o rings in the sleeve grooves, slip in a small o ring pick or small screwdriver under the o rings & slide it around the sleeve, this will straighten A twisted o ring, that can cause A leak or piston scoring. I use liquid soap for installation, some guys use oil, use both sparingly A little on the o ring & the bore in the block.   GOOD LUCK
