I have a 1015 AllisChamers 3 cyl Diesel.  Dont really know what year the tractor is I am guessing in the 80's.  I am having a problems trying to get the tractor go into reverse or 1st.  It stop working when I was grading snow.  It will go into second and 3rd gear just fine.  This is like a lawn tactor with a 3 point hitch.  2 wheel drive.  If I really slam it hard in to reverse it will go some somtimes.  any help woulld be great?  Thanks

Don't know anything about those machines, so take this for what it's worth! My guess would be that the shifter may be worn to that it doesn't fully engage 1st/reverse. Or it could be similar setup to my CA/D14 where there's a shift collar that engages the gears. Teeth on the collar get worn and the gears become hard to shift into or won't stay in gear. Would help to know what sort of tranny setup you have - bet there are folks on here who actually know what they are talking about!
