I'm trying to disassemble the pedestal on my nf D17 Ser I to replace the oil seals - oil is constantly seeping out the bottom of the pedestal. How can I remove the splined coupling? The service manual says "...remove the splined collar and pulll spindle assemble from pedestal housing" but doesn't say anything about how to remove the splined collar. The capscrew, washer and shims came out easily. The service manual shows a snap ring in the diagram but doesn't say anything about removing it. Does the shaft snap ring have to come out before the coupling can be removed? |
