I have a belt pulley on a WC that the back lash is not properly set and and I cant seem to get it pulled out to disengage it.  Any advice? Tips or tricks?
  Thanks,
  Joe

Have you backed out or removed the setscrew that holds it??  If so, it is probably stuck with old oil.   Try carefully prying it out from the frame using a fairly large bar and a block of wood between the bar and the pulley.

The screw is out.  I pried with my biggest pry bar, have hit with a block of wood and a large hammer, hooked ratchet straps from it to another tractor and just drug the front of the tractor over.  Im about out of ideas.

Two things I can think of: Take the pulley off and put a puller on. Or you might try, if the tractor runs, run the tractor with the set screw out of the pulley drive, maybe it would loosen up ?

If it is stuck with oil maybe dumping some gas around it would help loosen?

Hey, try using PB-Blaster. I use this stuff for everything. I've unseized engines with it and broke loose bolts and nuts with it. I use it on anything and every thing thats stuck or seized. That stuff is great.

Just an o-ring probably just dried oil around it, have you tried prying front and back at the same time, or top and bottom.   Whats new up north? Fred

Joe -  Soak up with your favorite  penatrate oil in the setscrew hole.  I believe there is enough room between pulley and frame to get a 48" pipe wrench on it and try to rotate it.  The pulley is probably stuck on the gasket

Well after prying on it and oiling over the last year or so, I added a little more penetrating oil and a little gas.  I then beat a block of wood in between the frame and the pulley.  Next I beat on the bottom of the pulley.  Then I beat the block of wood in farther and put my pry bar on it and out it came.  Thanks for the tips guys!
Fred, not much new up north.  Working on my M crawler trying to get her going.  Whats going on down south?  Going to North Stars lunch tomorrow?
