I know the traction booster setup was standard on the later D-10 but was it an option or even available for the early D-10? thanks nathan

Traction booster was standard on all early D-10/12's with the high pressure hydraulic system (same as CA). If the tractors were equipped with the optional low pressure hydraulic system with the little tank by the distributer and the pump below the distributer, there was no traction booster. These tractors will also have larger diameter lift cylinders.  This will apply to D-10's prior to serial 3500 and D-12's proir to serial 3000.

The pump is driven off the cam gear; same location as the P/S pump for the D14 and D15 tractors. The hi pressure pump was the same as found on the CAs and located off the rear pumpkin and driven off the pto shaft. Would guess that the low pressure pumps for the engine mounted location were more readily available at the time.
What this country needs is more unemployed politicians-and lawyers.

The low pressure system was used on tractors mainly used for row cultivating and operations other than plowing. It was live so didn't stop when the clutch was pushed in.
