When winterizing a B or other early models and during long period of non-use, should the clutch pedal be depressed fully or left in the disengaged position? Thanks for advice. George

For a really long time {Years} the pedal should be down all the way. Over the winter months you won't have to do it.

but jeff if you leave the pedal pushed in wont you set the return spring in a position that would render your clutch worthless? yes i know if you dont push it in the clutch can stick.

I believe I would split it and pull the clutch before I'd tie it depressed for years.

Just my opinion, but I would leave the pedal out, and from time to time go by and depress the pedal while rocking the tractor back and forth a few times to keep the disc from sticking to the flywheel and pressure plate. If you leave the pedal depressed, the pressure plate springs will probably deform. In my mind, leaving the pedal out would be the lesser of evils. If it did stick, you could split the tractor and free it up instead of having to split the tractor and replace the pressure plate springs. Just my line of thinking. Dream.

Just leave it Up. When you go to start it lock the clutch down then. leaving it locked down all winter will put extra stress on the pressure plate springs, and Loads your throwout bearing in one spot.
