I hope one of you can help me with a problem I'm having with my 92 Ford F250. The air conditioner compressor runs constantly and has this has caused the seals on the compressor to fail twice. I'm guessing the high pressure switch is bad, but I'm having trouble finding it. Anyone have a suggestion? Yes, I know January is a strange time to worry about an air conditioner, but I want to get this figured out and parts ordered while I've got the time to fix it. Thanks for your help.

Going off memory, but i think there's a sensor on the acumulator that controls the cycling of the compressor.

The switch on the acumulator will be a low pressure switch. If it has a high pressure switch you should be able to trace the high side line and find it. Look near the filter with the site glass or near the fire wall bulk head connections.

I dont think 92 has a high side switch. Unplugging the connector at the ac clutch will keep it from engaging until you get it figured out. I assume that u know that the compressor runs when the defrost is on.

Someone else at work told me they thought there was no high pressure side switch, but if that is the case, what keeps the compressor from running all the time? I thought all air conditioning compressors were supposed to cycle. Does it run constantly under normal operation, or am I missing what cycles it?
