	Hi all, Got a bit of a strange question for you all. My Dad was talking to a guy he knows that has a D19 Diesel tractor. This tractor is in need of some engine help I guess (I don't know the specifics), and the guy was throwing around the idea of swaping in a gas engine in place of the diesel. He was wondering if this is even possible first, and if so, is it easy, or even worth the effort, etc... He called to ask what I knew about this possibility, but I have no knowledge on this topic. But I told him I'd find out what I could. So thats why I came here, I know someone here will know the answer. Could a gas engine be swaped in for a diesel? What all would be involved, and what would be interchangable?

	Very possible, with all the right parts it bolts together. You can even use the diesel block and connecting rods if you can come up with a gas head,pistons & manifold. Kip

	I know of a D19 gas engine from a Gleaner C, if he would want to trade. I'm near Eau Claire, WI. Kraig

	you can use a 262 eng out of a CII or early F combine or another D19. If you could find a D19 gas eng that would work the best as the combine engines use a different carb and govenor and would need to be changed to the tractor govenor. Youll have to change the eng adapter plate and use the tractor flywheel, Im thinking the front plate might have to be changed too. HTH

	How bout a D 17 .. anyone ever put a diesel engine in say a series 4 gas 17 ?

	Michael, you are really asking for a lot of work there! D17 diesels had the same 262 engine as the 19, but needed a longer frame and sheet metal, to name just a few of the things you would need to change.
