I tried to update a old style governor housing assembly on 39B with a 39 BE engine with a head cast in 39. Picked one out of the spare parts pile that has the oil line fitting. It was still hooked up to the governor control and linkage off a B125. I had to unbolt a special stamped piece that I didn't need off the arm that goes across the front of the engine. I got it all cleaned up and could not get it to dry fit my engine. The arm was too tall and hit the water neck base on the front of the head. Got another out of spare parts that looked the same but the arm was tad shorter, just enough to fit like it should under the water neck base. I thought the later housing assemblies were all the same but apparently not. Anybody need a governor control with rod linkage and governor housing for a B125 engine that don't fit my tractor? It's not one of the 1850 rpm engine governors like the one shown in the parts book

I have found the same thing. I just rebend the 90 degree bend to more than the 90 degrees and bend the arm back up in front of that bend to just clear water outlet on the head. Tweek to fit!
That is what the hole in the handles of 12 inch adjustable wrenches is for, aint it?
