I have a 85 8010 that has a problem of RPM surging when doing field work.  I have keep adjusting the throttle to maintain the correct ground speed.  I looked at the service manuel for troubleshooting options.  According to the manuel it should have the Roorsa-Master pump but it appears to be a Bosch pump.  Also this tractor does not have the lift pump as the manuel says it should.  Did any of the 8010's have the Bosch injection pump, or has somebody in the past altered it?  I have only owned this tractor for a couple of years and don't have any history with it.

Thanks

Dont know if I'll be correct on this, but was told by mechanic that when a tractor starts surging its time to get the pump rebuilt.

I'm not sure of what the correct pump was.  Ours had been replaced by the previous owner and I can't think of the name off the top of my head.  We had problems with ours, RPMs would increase after about 30 minutes of running in the field.  Someone on the site recommended having the pump rebuilt and it fixed all of our problems.  We also did the injectors at the same time.

There was a serial number break on the 8010's.  Later ones had the Bosh pump.  My serial 2228 still has the Roosa.

American Bosch model 100's used on Allis-Chalmers did have some governor sensitivity issues. If it is starting to act up and progressively get worse, then pump needs gone through and set to latest specs. good luck, Ed.
