Well got a call this morning that the generator and regulator I took in to my local tractor electrical  guys came out bad. The generator had a bad arm and was just plain messed up as was the regulator. He had a Generator he had rebuilt heavy duty with ball bearings and also a new rgulator. Put them on and polorized everything and boom. no luck. So I checked all wires to the selenoid since I could hear it click but no start. Found a bad wire raplaced that end and Bam she fired up!!.. I am not afraid to admit that a may have earned my MBA I am not very inclined mechanically. The only thing is; is that the amp meter stays at zero. I will start up every time but do not notice any difference as far as charging and going above Zero.. It may be that since I charges that battery first that it may take awile.. Any Ideas why it stay at zero?  But I am proud I got it running and moved round bales with it today.....!!!

Turn your lights on without the engine running and it should show discharge. If it doesn't either you amp meter is no good or something isn't wired right.

start it up and rev up the engine.  Sometimes that's all it needs to get the generator charging (and showing a charge on the ammeter).

Put a voltage meter on the battery while it is running and you should have around 14 volts if it is chargeing, and that will tell you if there is some thing wrong with the Amp gauge. Steve
