Are brake shoes on a B the same for hand brakes and foot brakes Tim

No, they are similar but not the same. The hand brake shoes have a threaded stud attached to one shoe that fits into the trunnion on the hand lever. The foot brake shoes have a captive nut in the end of one shoe and the adjuster screw goes through the trunnion and into the shoe. The stud on the hand brake shoe is longer.
Now you could possibly use the foot brake shoes with the hand brakes by using a longer piece of threaded rod screwed and into the shoe to convert it to the stud style. I would install the threaded rod with lock tite to keep it from turning in the shoe. |

Thanks Alberta Phil, The pics of shoes on websites didn't look like mine. The bolts on mine are riveted on to the metal part of shoe, the studs are broken, I think I will grind the studs to a point and weld on some new rod with threads and have them relined. Tim

Have you tried Tony Carbaugh on this site or Sandy Lake for new ones?? I got new ones for my foot brake 'B' from Tony recently.
