Just seen a Steffes Auctions flyer for their Litchfield MN consignment auction tomorrow, and there's a 6100 white 12 row 30" planter on it that I'm kind of interested in. Is anyone on the forum going to that auction that could look at it for me? I don't know much about whites, but I hear on here alot that they are a good planter. This one is a vertical fold, has liquid fertilizer on it, squeeze pump, 3000 monitor, and trash whippers. Any one ball park a price on it? And how many series old is a 6100? Or are they the latest greatest, or old and obsolete? Any help appreciated. Wish I would have seen the ad sooner so that I could have posted this a few days ago, but that's how it goes I guess. Thanks, Darrel

I paid 10,500 for a 6100 8 row 30 last fall. The dealer threw in all the parts that touch the ground and I did the labor. I've been using a 5100 and thought highly of it and this 6100 is stronger built. Series after the 6100 is the 8100 and I think that is still current, but pretty much the same meter with less iron on the unit frame. There's some brushes inside the meter that are pretty cheap to replace otherwise, nothing really wears out except for the blades/ seed tubes etc. Also no talc or graphite is needed and my dealer strongly advised not using that stuff in the white planter. There're are a ton of different 61/81 series numbers but most of the numbers refers to bar type/spacing etc. Air pressure is a critical setting but easy to set and spacing is very accurate. Also it doesn't take much hydraulic power to operate the air or you can use a PTO pump to operate.

Thanks guys. I wish I'd of gotten on this sooner, cause it sounds like a good planter that I should have. But the sale starts at 10, and I'm 500 miles away. Could on-line bid, but I'm a little nervous about buying it without looking at it. Darrel

Funny, A friend of mine just traded his off on Monday to Schlauderaff in Litchfield. I dont remember the model# but it was a 12 row 30" vertical fold. He bought it brand new and took really good care of it.
Here is there listing http://www.schlauderaffimplement.com/index.cfm?show=10&mid=6 |

Matt, do you think it's the 5100 listed? It doesn't have a price on that one. If I get more interested in it, I may like to get in touch with your friend. Thanks, Darrel

Last week a 8300 AGCO White (Black machine 12-30/13-15) sold for $25,000. Had individual row shutoffs and trash whippers. Looked to be a 8.5-9 on a 1-10 scale. Wish I had been there!

I bought a 6180 16-30" in December in S. Minn for 14k that is in very nice shape. Going to pull it with the new to us 8030 fwa that we picked up by Litchfield from a local farmer.
