Well I got back home this noon after being told there was another buyer that had said he would buy the XT but hadn't put any money on it. I was making home made turkey meatballs for my spaghetti supper tonight when the seller called and said his elderly father had decided that since the other fellow had not put any money down that it could be mine if I wanted it. I told him I would be there in 30 minutes and away I sped. Finally, I own a series III! Yippee yi ya! lol

![]() ![]() These are wierd angled pics but the shed this has been sitting in for 16 years has no room for maneuvering. It seemed quite the gamble buying her but my closest Allis friends told me to snag it, so I did. |

![]() SO after the 4 feet of snow here melts and the 45* hillside driveway dries up, we will winch her on the trailer and get her home. This waiting is gonna drive me crazy! lol |

Mighty fine machine you now own, They were proven workhorses. Whatever it needs it will get, and give you lot's of good sevice to come. If that is original paint, I sure hope you tipped the seller for that detail!

Good Find, that looks like a very good find. That never seems to happen around these parts. I am happy you got the deal done and know you will like that one. I drove an XT for a lot of years in my younger days and reallly liked it. I would take it off your hands if for any reason you change your mine about it. ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!

Its all original paint. The old man owner has some elsheimers poor man. This was parked in the earlier 90's and has never been touched. The more I look at the pics the more I recon after maybe a thorough cleaning and buffing she may not need new paint?! He fell asleep one day raking hay and drove through a fencerow and barbed wire fence scratching off some paint as you can see. How do you experts fill in those spots without giving it away and to make it match? I am hoping to keep original paint but need advice as to the art of camoflaging new paint...

How much did you have to pay? Is there something wrong with the engine or hasn't it been run for awhile. I have a 190 & 200 they are so handy for so many jobs. |

Congrats and welcome to the 190XT club! I never thought I needed one, but when I came across this one for $3000 I grabbed it. It has been a good investment.....

Just saw your other post about the tractor get 2 new batteries in it and then check the radiator for antifreeze, if it has antifreeze in then plug in the engine heater for 3or 4 hours then try starting it. iit is that cold that there is snow there you need to warm that engine up a little bit.

You can argue about what tractor is better but you can't argue what tractor had the best name. 190XT Series III Landhandler can't be beat.

Captain Dana, does it have a 3 pt hitch and dual speed PTO? Good looking tractor, you'll love it. When I was growing up, my brother worked for a neighbor who had a one-ninetyXT gas, and he absolutely hated it, and so had me convinced that they were no good. Even after I got hooked on AC through my D series tractors, I was very scared of buying anything labelled one-ninety because of that. Well, a few years ago I got as deal on a one-ninety gas that I couldn't pass up, so I bought it. It's now one of my favorites, and I now also have a 1967 one-ninety XT diesel that I like as well. Guess my brother didn't know what he was talking about!! Darrel

Great find, Dana. I still remember driving the new ones off of the Tractor Transport trucks delivering them from West Allis. I love that tractor.

Captaindana, What a great find! I like the story about the paint job being damaged by the older gentleman falling asleep and driving through a barb wire fence. Personally, I would just give it a great wax job and keep the original scratches for good conversation. That is one good looking 190xt III! If it has not been started for years, you may want to view this link below about how to get it pre-lubed before cranking it over?

Thanks for all the info guys! This has been sitting for 20 years, but the fuel is probably 24 years old as the guy only used it a couple times after selling the farm in 85! He sold his equipment then but loved the tractor so that was kept in this shed from 85 till today, but hasn't run since 90. He just couldn't part with it he said. So it is 40 years old and hasn't ran in 20 yrs so it worked for 20 and sat for 20. 3300 hours devided by 20 means he used it about 165 hours a year. I will heed all of the above advice and will keep you posted...now if I could just make all this snow melt on the mountain so I can get her home lol!
