    Posted: 11 Feb 2011 at 10:43am
Hello,

I need the outer seal (dustcap?) for two cylinders on our Allis loaders, one of the loaders in on a 160 and one is on a 180 and they use the same seal. I've already looked on the Agco parts site and none of the pictures I can find seem to match what I need and the local dealer isn't too knowledgeable and can't gaureentee that I will get the right parts if I order what they think I need. If anyone needs a picture for clarification let me know and I'll get one posted.

Does anyone have the part number for the seals or a source outside of Agco to buy them?

Thanks,

Erik

The 160 and 180 would have a 400 or 500series loader if they are original AC loaders. We stock the wiper seal that tucks into the end nut. About $5. If you have oil coming out past the wiper seal you have other problems because it is only intended to wipe the dirt from  the rod not to contain oil.  Bill

Hi Bill,

Is the end nut itself still available? If possible I would like to get two of the nuts along with the wiper seals as the ones in the cylinders now are really beat up from "farmer fixes" over the years.

I've already opened up the cylinders and replaced the O-rings so the leak has been fixed, I'd just like to replace the outer wiper seals and ideally the end nuts if possible.

Thanks,

Erik

Bill, what does a new lower lift ram cost for the 500 loader?  Like you said, if it is leaking at the seal, there are other problems.  One of my lift rams leaks bad.  Or, does a guy have to purchase the whole cylinder to go back to square one?

You likely just need the seal kit that would replace all the piston and head seals and o-rings. We have everything in stock for $40.42 per cylinder.

Baum Hydraulics probably also has those seal kits.

Bill, 2 years ago, I had my dealer replace all 4 cylinder's seal kits as you described.  They explained that one of the lift rams was slightly bent.  We discussed replacement of it but I did not have the dollars to do it at the time.  They were right, cause it leaked as soon as I re-assembled it.  That is why I ask about the ram or whole cylinder?  Does AGCO still carry these?  If so, for what price?
