I'm not sure they have a crank start pulley. I would guess it would have one with a bolt flange on it for a front mount pump. I guess the only way to know for sure is get in there and look.

It is keyed to the shaft with a tapered setscrew from the side. The front has a crank slot in it. No bolts or bolt pattern in front. The E gleaner used one with bolts in the front for a drive. MACK

If the tractor had an Allis loader with front hyd. pump the pulley would have four bolt holes to hold the drive-shaft adaptor. Standard pulley would have crank slot.

From the Manual:
"Effective with gasoline tractor S/N D17-15931 and diesel tractor S/N 16035 and engine S/N 104840, crankshaft pulleys for front mounted drives were used in production.
When mounting front mounted pumps or similar equipment on tractors prior to the above serial numbers, it will be necessary to order these pulleys from Parts. The mounting flange hub and shaft which attaches to the pulley is furnished by the Allied Equipment Manufacturer."

Could you tell me the center to center measurement between the holes in that pulley?
Also, the size of the holes and if they are threaded?
I would like to put a front mount pump on my D-17 and if I had that info, I could be looking around in my piles of "stuff" for an adaptor I could bolt on there without taking mine apart right now.
Really would appreciate it. Thanks

Thanks, I'm sure that adaptor is not cheap from Agco, so I would like to see if I could make my own if that's possible.

Brian,
If you remember I posted pics of my d19 with a front mounted pump. I am not a machinist, but I made my own hub to bolt to the crank. Just make a center punch mark in a piece of 3/8 plate and then use a divider and compass to make your bolt hole measurements. A rule will not get you accurate. Make sure to double check the center and bolt hole locations with the divider. For the hub, I used a 3/4 keyed and set screw hub from tractor supply. I centered it by drilling a locating hole from the center mark and then driving a piece of rod into the 3/8 plate. The rod could then be driven out after the hub had been welded to the plate. Hope this helps. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. Brad |

Thanks Brad,
I think I copied the pics of your front mounted pump mainly for the
mounting setup. As I recall, it was a nice clean job.
