some people believe it is the same as some of the mid 60"s corvette drives, but the corvette one is about 0.060" smaller in diameter and then strips out the tractor distributor gear.. That is what I found out. if you find one that works out let us know.

Matt and I have had oppisate experiances with the 'Vette gears. We have the aftermarket gear sold for 62-70s Corvette in our D-19. Besides the obvious wear in the old one the 'vette part measured with in a couple thou of the one that was in it, was it original? who knows?  All I know is  we removed the distributor  so we could check things out thoroughly, installed the gear and it ran as smooth as glass in the distributor machine. Ours it is still running the tach a year later, maybe the only one I dont know??  Worn shaft bushings will effect the mesh as will the brass bushing that the gear runs through. It is also available along with the trust button all as a kit or as individual pieces. Search "corvette tach drive gear" on Ebay. We bought from Virginia Vettes, darned nice people to deal with.

Did that with our D-19 as well. It worked for a while then stopped. Here to find out that the gear on the distributor shaft is chewed up really bad. need to replace that shaft on there in order for it to work properly. Otherwise the vette one should work.
