 Topic: D-17 3 point on a WD 45

I have a D-17 that is currently inoperable and was wondering if anyone could offer any insight into if the after market three point hitch will bolt up to my WD45 with little or no modifacation. This hitch is the one that causes you to lose your draft control but it is not a real big deal because the WD 45 that I want to put this on has a problem or misadjustment with the pump that causes it to lose its draft function any way. If it will fit on the WD45 I will probably leave it on their since I plan to use both tractors and I would like to have draft control on the D-17 for plowing.

This is the exact hitch here
I thought I gave to much for the tractor but the hitch on it looks like new and I see that they sell for about 500 which is half of what I paid for the D-17

Nobody has any ideas thoughts or comments on this. I guess I will give it a try when I try to fix the governor, install a high voume hydraulic pump and put dual wheels on that WD45 in a couple days. ( I guess if I am gonna do all of that stuff I should probably paint it too.)

Never tried it but I would guess from here and without having the 2 tractors in front of me the only thing you would have to do on the 45 is remove the rear deck plate. otherwise I'm pretty sure it would bolt up.

It depends on which three point linkage ya got, some will work, most wont. Like Lonn said, without looking at it, dont know for sure.

Nope, won't fit. It will fit a 14, 15 or 17. There are four bolts/studs on the underside of the rear end that hold it on. The 45 does not have the same set up.

I would forget about all the junk they have for the top link. Just bend a u shaped piece of flat iron around the lift arm shaft and drill through for the top link.

That looks like the Saginaw hitch that we put on our D-17. They were around $400 back 5 years ago. Maybe you could sell it or trade it for one to fit a WD45. The Saginaw is a very good conversion hitch.

It isn't a hitch I would want because of all the junk associated with the top link and how the lift arms are attached under the tractor. It makes one of the best features of the Allis, the traction boost system, worthless. The company made this didn't have a clue what they were doing. I'd keep the lift arms and the parts that attach them to the Allis lift arms and scrap the rest of it.

Well my traction booster doesn't work with the current hydraulic setup now anyway and I have one tractor that does not have any snap copler parts so the spares from the conversion will let a tractor that has a working traction booster actually use it.

I bet I could make it work! Just like Tucker said...you don't need all that iron for the top link. That's how mine is.....a clevis welded to the lift arm shaft..a loose one will slide back and forth.
