Dragline question NON AC

Anyone have any information about this rig or know what kind of engine it might be?

Schield Bantams were built from 1942 up until 1964, when Koehring purchased Schield Bantam. In the following link (below) there's some info on the Schields and the Bantam. If you scroll to the bottom of the website link, you will see "Fred and Emma Schield Family History" on the LHS.

Clicking on that "Family" link brings up another page with the family history broken up into three sections. In the center section, you will see "Schield Bantam Company". There are two links under this heading - Part A and Part B. Clicking on "Part A" and "Part B" brings up two PDF files with some company history and a few photos.

The Schield Bantam M-49 model was truck mounted. It could be set up in four configurations - crane/dragline/face shovel/hoe. As a crane, the M-49 had a capacity of 9.5 tons. As a dragline, it was 3/8 yards in drag bucket size, or 1/2 yard in clam bucket size. It had a 40 foot boom. The M-49 was a military surplus model - the civilian model was T-35.
The construction model, mounted on tracked undercarriage was C-35, and this had a 5/8 yd capacity.
The M-49 was powered by a Continental F-227. Engines used by Schield Bantam were GM, Buda, Cummins, Chrysler Industrial 6, and Continental.

	Type in the Bantam M49 into google , lot of info to search , was updated in 1952 to #35.

	I came up with several pages of construction info and did not get through them all. advertizing and sales of macine and other info of or from users , might take a little digging but it's there somewhere in pages.
