did they ever make a 4x4 7000 series they did in other models why not them. iv never seen one if they did

They made the 7580 which was an articulating 4x4. We still have one, it was our big tractor most of my life, but is #3 now.

I dont believe AC ever had that as an option on that series; I think an aftermarket company did make hyd. driven front axles for them , I seen a photo awhile back of a 7080 with fwa , looked mean , its been a while but I,ll look for it

I believe FWA was in the plans for these tractors, but it got shelved in order to help move the project more quickly. I'm sure they could have sold plenty of them.

My memory is little foggy, but marketing drummed up a deal with an aftermarket FWD company-----I think it was Mud-Hog. A tractor was sent them and I remember making a trip to see it operate on a large vegetable farm in Florida. I don't remember if that became an authorized aftermarket installation or not.
When I started with the Tractor Division in 1977 (2nd time working for Allis), Engineering was busy trying to fix some of the problems of the brown belly tractors with the black belly tractor prototypes. Then, about 1979, Engineering moved on to the design and test of the 8000 Series tractor. Part of the changes for the 8000's included provision for a mechanical drive FWA.

im talking about a 7000,7010,7020,7030,7045,7060,7080
thnks for what you all have said about it tho.
we have a 7000 black belly and a 7010 both power shifts
but our works toys are a 220 and a d21
and cant leave out the great wd and the wd45 or the d17 series 4 3pt diesel
