Good labor day morning my friends.
Hoping each of you are having a blessed weekend.
Yesterday two friends and I rode motorcycles up to Hollister MO to see the Blue Angles and air show.
Te went down a couple little roads looking for a place we could see.
We pulled over and were watching some sky divers and trying to decide if we were at a good spot.
An older gentleman came walking up from a nice house and yard down the street a little.
He told us not to park there because he was worried our motorcycles would get hit. He said we could park in his yard.
He told us across the road was a very good place to view the show. We thanked him and had a good visit.
We then walked up the road and found a good clear spot in a big yard.
We saw some folks on their back porch so we asked if we could watch from there. They said no problem.
We sat down in the grass and started seeing planes doing stunts.
Soon a lady came from the house where we were sitting and brought use each a folding chair to sit in.
As she handed us chairs, the First Gentleman we saw across the road brought us sandwiches and cold soda pops.
The weather was absolutely perfect and it was nice to see there’s still some very nice people around the country.
The air show was phenomenal.
We got to see an F22 in action and the Blue Angles were spectacular.

this is the America I miss, glad you found a little bit of it to enjoy! A little bit of nice and friendly is a great thing to experience, I sure wish some more people would return to that!
Thanks for sharing that Thad!, please enjoy the holiday, we’ve worked hard for it.

When I was young, we'd always go to the CNE in Toronto, last 2 days of the show, as the CNE AIR SHOW was on ...great lots of planes to watch.... time passes...now can watch live feed on the internet..... this year ,a DISMAL display BUT for you, the USA, showed up with an F-35, probably came 100s of miles away.. Meanwhile , the ONLY airworthy Lancaster sat in it's hanger 42 miles away. sigh, guess I'm one of those 'old and cranky' guys now.....

Yeah, why go out, enjoy the day, take in the speed and splendor, grab a burger and a beer when you can just stare at a friggin screen some more?

Getting a few things done here, air show in Chesterfield MO this weekend is usually a good one. Will miss it this year as most of our older friends are debilitated enough cannot go with us, miss those days when we all went.

Glad you found some of the few nice people left in this country. Like Joe said this is the America I miss. There are some good people out there and most of them have old tractors, old cars or ride motorcycles. Hope everyone has an enjoyable and safe Labor Day.
Just an old country boy saved by the grace of God.

I kinda take them for granted, living near Annapolis, get to see them spring and fall.  I have a customer that I mow for who lives close enough that I see the reverse view of the show that everybody at the stadium sees, while mowing that lawn...Thumbs Up
