This may very well be the youngest WWII Veteran.
If my math is correct, he was only 14-yr-old when Germany surrendered in May 1945 and barely 15-yr-old when Japan surrendered in September 1945. He does look very young in one of his military photos. It would be interesting to know where this guy ranks as youngest when the war ended.

When I was a kid I met a man who may have been the youngest B 17 pilot of the war. He was a very decent man and quite interesting.

Here’s a good read weblink about the B-17 air-crews. The movie, “Memphis Belle” is a must watch if interested.

My Dad was among the youngest draftees to actually see combat in WW2, he was born in July of 1925 and was drafted in late 1943. His unit, the 70th Infantry Division, reached France in late December of 1944, just in time for the Battle of the Bulge. He left some of his blood there, and a lot of German blood as well; he still had pieces of shrapnel working its way out of his legs up until he died in 1988.
