My neighbor just got his new-to-him WD going. The lift arms will go up when the control lever is raised, but I can push them back down while the pump is running or I can hold them down and keep them from raising. Hold detent doesn't seem to hold. This tractor has been sitting for quite a few years before he got it. It had a loader on it that was plumbed into the rear remote and the control valves are mounted on the right fender. He doesn't need the loader so I'm thinking that all that extra plumbing should be removed and see if that is causing this issue. |

The issue is that the oil is flowing with no restriction. I know that doesn’t explain the hold detent, but the lift arms have no pressure until you use the valve for the loader. Then I bet the arms will lift something then. Unhook the loader hydraulics from the rear is probably all you need to do. Hold detent is a separate issue.

You were right! Disconnected the hoses from the remote outlet and with a little bit of adjustment of the linkages, it seems to work as it should. He's going to hook up to the rear blade and see how it lifts and holds.
