I picked this tool at a yard sale some time back,,,and it has turned out to be one heck of a GREAT tool,,!! The handle is a hard plastic and the bristles are VERY hard and stiff for getting the ones on the point into nooks and crannies and crevacess,,,It just works great. So much so that I just about wore out the bristles on the point and I would like to order a new one from whoever makes em,,,???  ,,,,?

 Dang modern made tools that don't last.  Joe you're just working too much. 
Way back a neighbor had 2 young guys working. We got stretch of wet weather, no tractor driving or other old side work could be done. He put them to work cleaning his old tractors and put a new coat of paint on them. He buys one new wire brush for them to use. A week or so latter the boss is fiddling with some little thing, want to use the wire brush. They about had the wire ground down to nothing. He starts in on them "I get you a new tool and you just abuse it and wear it out".( One of those guys that could wear a cheap wire brush out in a week, is one guy that might give a run for your money in making old junk {excuse me vintage equipment, why would I say junk, mines not junk, just vintage} keep on working.) He thinks it's a very funny story these days. Not so much at the time. As 2 young guys without any direct supervision all day working enough to wear a brush out in a week, he figured was a sign they had not been goofing off.
Sorry for taking this away from your question. Looking for bottle cleaning brush's had no hard steel. Maybe for cleaning copper pipe.  No just more soft wire and plastic. So hopefully somebody figures what to call it, so you can find a new one.

are the bristles plastic or brass ? Most small round brushes are call " BOTTLE" or "TUBE CLEANER" brushes.... dont see too many with that handle... Forney use to make them like that handle with fine steel wires.

That is just Great that you found this one Steve,,,but you gots a way of finding stuff on the web,,,  The bristles are definately Hardened steel,,you cannot hardly even bend them with needle nose pliers,,,and that is the beauty of this tool. You force into the hole or slot and start twisting and it will loosen and remove all them gookies !!!! The good thing is we got a MFGRs name so the search can narrow down,,, THANKS Steve,,,!!

That is a brush for cleaning the inside of copper fittings before sweating onto the pipe, you can get them in the plumbing section of most any store that carries copper pipe and fittings. Comes in 1/2 and 3/4 inch. I have worn out a bunch of them. I have also seen sets of similar brushes that chuck up in a drill in brass, ss steel, and steel.

I've got a drawer full of those in various states of wear. They are handy for many things in the shop. Just don't try to use one as a tooth brush or to clean out your ears!! LOL

I dunno actually, with my cholesteatoma that'd be quite the tool to cut through the crap that can build up in the right earhole! God knows the skin in there is tough enough haha

The tooth brush was invented in Arkansas. If it was invented anywhere else it would have been the teeth brush.

OK,,,if ya'll are done throwing dental histories barbs at each other,,,,,,, ,,I'll tell ya'll an update,,,,,,the distributor of the forney brushes finally contacted me and does not carry brushes similar to the one I was looking for and only accept orders of 50 or more for those they do sell. ,,!! Their Forney brushes are used in the plumbing business to clean out the ID of copper pipe and fittings. Their bristles are flexible and similar in hardness to those in a regular hand wire brush. (Not to be confused with Tooth Brushes) Being the curious type of person that I am,,,I calipered one of the very stiff bristles at the handle end of the mystery brush and it looks to be 0.016 and stiff as my,,,,UMMmm,,,never mind,,,! I believe the ultra hard bristles on this one were wound on this hardened Stainless wire and tapered to a point intentionaly to reach into crevasses (not to be confused with those mal,,,Errrrr ,,never mind,,,!! All kidding aside,,,Folks,,,This is a very useful "TOOL" and sure wish I could find another one,,,,

joe, another thought is these brushes tend to "wear out" on the end first and will over time become pointed.. It "might" have been more of a flat design when new... HECK.. for $5. buy 2-3 and GIVE IT A TRY !!
you can touch the edges to a bench grinder and taper a new one as you want !

Any tool place will have those. I use ones that fit in handheld drill. Have many sizes. We use these a lot for cleaning up the holes for the brake pins in the caliper brackets on cars and pickups.

Hey Ed,,are the bristles on those very stiff,,? like LOTS stiffer than regular hand held wire brushes,,??
