I have purchased a used Aluma 7712H Utility trailer. The trailer is currently located a bit north of Daytona Beach, FL. I'm planning on driving down from Peachtree City, GA in the near future to bring it home but... If someone is already going to be driving from the Daytona Beach area to the Atlanta, GA area in the next month, perhaps we could work out a deal on gas money and save me the trouble of driving roundtrip to pick up the trailer. The trailer requires a 2" ball and it weighs around 600 pounds. Specs may be found at: http://www.alumaklm.com/7710H-7712H..._axle.html My email is sbosecker@mindspring.com Thanks! Scott, that should be a sweet pull with the G on board!

Joe,
Yes, I think it will work very well. I'm looking forward to using it to get my 2 G's in Indiana out of my dad's shed and into my shop.
Best regards,
Scott

Well I retrieved the trailer from Florida a couple of weeks ago. That all went well except that my fuel consumption dramatically increased bringing the trailer home with the trailer ramp up!
I will be traveling from Georgia to southwest Indiana for Thanksgiving – I’m going up empty and hope to bring back one of my G’s from dad’s shed.
Since the trailer and I are still getting acquainted, I wanted to do a test run with a G on the trailer before starting a 500 mile journey from my parent’s house and then finding out there were “issues”.
The trick was going to be getting my non-running "Georgia G" onto the trailer. I bought a portable electric winch from Walmart and managed to get the G onto the trailer by myself. After securing the tractor to the trailer I took it out for a short drive on the road. It all went well. Pictures follow.

Hi Scott
Couple comments on your 'Test Run' pictures.
I believe most States / Provinces now require '4 corner' securing of a large item being transported on a trailer.
That means 4 straps / chains - one at each corner - and 'more importantly' independent of each other.
That way if one strap breaks or comes loose, the other 3 continue to secure the load until the loose strap is secured.
Also with a 'single axle' trailer I would be inclined to install an 'anti-sway bar' at the truck and trailer hitch.
I had a single axle trailer start fish-tailing on me once - and believe me it is no happy experience.
Just my 2 cents.
Gary
