Did 7045's use a maroon primer under black paint? I see many with exposed maroon.

So, check the chassis serial number just above the PTO shield. It should say 7045-xxxx. If it does, I guess you are seeing brown primer paint. If the s/n says 7030 or 7040, it's a maroon tractor painted black.
