So I posted some compter simulation .
Stroke 6 inches for both simulations
rod length 7.375 10 inches
MAXIMUM ENGINE RPM 3000
BEGAN PLOT (DEGREES) 0 for both
PLOT RANGE 360 degrees for both
MAXIMUM PISTON SPEED -5099 -4925
CRANK ANGLE AT MPS (DEG) 71.3 74.8
PISTON TRAVEL AT MPS (INCHES) 2.61 2.64
MAXIMUM POSITIVE PISTON ACCELERATION(MPPA):(G) 541 564
MAXIMUM NEGATIVE PISTON ACCELERATION (MNPA):(G) -1080 -998
Thought some might be interested. In the continuation. With a deck height of 12.656 the 10 inch rod is not feasible with the six inch stroke but its a simulation of a 1.2 rod ratio to a 1.6 rod ratio for a 6 inch stroke

nothing here really to talk about is there? mppa is where the rod is being stretched as the piston is being pulled down . mnpa the rod is being compressed as its leaving bdc what about a 12 inch rod for a high reving motorcycle rod ratio of 2
MPS -4860.4
CRANK ANGLE AT MPS(DEG) 76.8
piston travel at mps (inches) 2.68
MPPA :(G) 582
CRANK ANGLE AT MPPA(DEG)157.5
PISTON TRAVEL AT MPPA (INCHES) 5.83
MAXIMUMNEGATIVE PISTON ACC.(MNPA):(G) -959
This is still a six inch stroke simulated at 3000 rpms as above. Edited by mlpankey - 03 Nov 2010 at 10:13am |
