I am wanting to put a starter on a RC that I am restoring but see there are 10, 12, 14 tooth starters available that say they fit.  Which one is really used for a RC?    There was no starter on this tractor before so have nothing to compare.   Thank you

if it's like a WC that came without a starter, you'll need to be sure it has a ring gear on the flywheel for the starter to engage

The 1107017 Starter motor is the one you'll need for the RC. As Joe mentioned, pop the cover out of the Starter hole and make sure there's a ring gear there. Some do, some don't. If it doesn't, I believe the WC ring gear is the one to use. My RC had a ring gear.
I have an 1107017 Starter motor for exchange on the shelf if you have a core. If not, I don't usually like to sell Starter motors outright, but if you can't find a core, I can help you out with this one....

Our crank start RC had a ring gear already when we pulled the starter hole plug. We had a good starter, foot rod, & mounting hardware on a “parts” WC. The battery box was junk on this parts tractor…so we just ordered a new one for a WC and everything worked great. We don’t have lights on our RC, so didn’t even bother with a generator. Put a good 12v battery in it & just charge the battery a couple times a year. Now that my nearly 90 year old dad doesn’t have to hand crank it, this has become his favorite tractor, because it’s so easy to get on & off. Kip
