Picked up a 6' "Green" LX6 Brush Mower from a Neighbor. While it is quite used and needs a few minor repairs I mainly need to get new 2 fiber clutch plates for it.

Is there a big difference in the clutch Plate brands out there? I see some for ~$5 each up to $27 each.

Also will be getting an Overrun Clutch - These too are priced all over the world, yet all look to be the  same "made in India" for the Pin-On ones - ~$40 on ebay to ~$100 at TSC.

Should I get a Pin-on or is it wiser to get one that has the push button for easier removal?
The Eurocardan one looks well built for this. Many of the others seem to have very questionable welding on them.

I have rebuilt two 15 ft batwings with all new U-joints and clutch plates... So far so good.. I bought them from Quality Farm.. The U-joints are top quality and some of the ODD sizes they seem to have where others do not... Cant speak about the long term life of the discs, but so far i have done GREAT... i dont think a big FARM SUPPLIES would be selling something that dont work..

You just pickout the DIAMETER you want... I do the same with the U-joints..

My over running clutch is held on with the push button so I can remove it from the tractor easily.  I keep it attached to the mower, that is all I use it on.  Makes changing directions very easy.  No grinding gears.  Pay a little more and get a good quality one.

Would like too - But thats what I'm asking - How do you know what is or who makes a good one?
