I'm sure there are threads on this problem but I can't figure out the right way to search for it. I have a 57' D14 and when the transmission is in gear and the PD in neutral, the tractor moves almost like it's in low. It still does it when the tractor is warm so it isn't related to that. Is there some form of adjustment to make it stop?

The neutral lock must be half way between high and low range and is adjustable. Warm Power Director oil is when the oil is 150 or more degrees hot. That is too hot to hold your hand on the housing under the instrument panel. I doubt there's anything wrong, I doubt that it is hot enough. It will creep much less in 4th gear than 1st gear. Change the oil to modern trans/hyd oil 2 gallons worth. Get used to it.

"Creeping" of the oil submerged clutch is a natural thing. I don't know why people think that's bad when the oil is cold. Shift the trans into neutral if you want to stop.

The fact that it creeps doesn't bother me, it's the speed that it creeps when in 1st gear that I wanted to know for sure if it's normal. There's no difference in speed with the power director in low or neutral. It doesn't matter if I just started the tractor or if it's been running for an hour.

Normal for the 4 D-14s I've had....
Once oil warms up not as bad a creep....
been told you can adjust but not worth the pain and aggrevation for me..
My PTO lever still weeps oil too.....( O-ring on inside....yuck...)

And, as I said the creep is way worse in LOW gear than 4th gear. It's the mechanical advantage of gear ratios.

If you can still stop the tractor moving with slight pressure on the brakes, then no problem. If the brakes won't stop it but lugs/kills the engine instead, then you need to try adjusting per the manual.

Make sure you don’t have gear oil like 90 weight or similar in the power director compartment. Heavy oil like that will make them creep badly. The factory oil was Type A automatic transmission fluid, but that was quickly replaced by Universal Tractor Transmission and Hydraulic Fluid such as AGCO 821xl.
