Saw a post below on cab doors. Reminds me of the 8000 introduction at the Loretta Lynn Farm tent in the 'bottom'.  The late Lynn Schriever was on the microphone and extolling the virtues of the wide steps and door of the 8030 he was doing the walk around on. He went off script and said not once but 4 times "Why if you had a 300 pound girlfriend or mother in law she could fit through this opening".  We, standing in the back, had a view of a farmer who weighed about 100 pounds and his wife who was sitting on a straw bale and HER rear end was hanging off both sides of the bale - no exaggeration! We, after his first attempt at humor started waving crossed arms and doing the cut-throat maneuver to try to get him to stop - to no avail. After he turned the program over to someone who talked about the disc hooked to the 8000, he came to the back of the tent and started a rant on us, saying we were acting like a bunch of monkeys and he didn't appreciate it.  I then turned him around - he kind of resisted - you had to have know Schrib - and pointed out the rear view of the embodiment of his illustration. He saw the wide load and turned around, got in Mooney's jeep and left - and didn't come back.  We kidded him for years about this - one  didn't get one on him often - he was a jewel.

He could improvise when he needed to. During the Farm Progress Show in 1983, his "beer fund" money had almost run dry. Sooo, he rented out a new 8070 tractor and a 1500 Min Til to a local farmer to "replenish" the lacking funds !!!

That was Lynn....He perfected that 'Facial Scowl' that put the fear of god into anyone thinking to cross him - even the big wigs.  I drew a tour on that bucking beast 1 ton Ford pulling the "proving grounds' cut-a-way of a 7080 - I complained about it causing hemorrhoids and he ask me in front of a crowd if I needed him to buy me a thicker pair of panties. He had a way with words.

Question is, did the little feller buy an 80xx for his wife? Great story.

tbran, that is an awesome story. You have a talent for storytelling. And to quote one of DrAllis' previous post replies, "in my mind's eye"; my mind's eye had great fun recreating/imagining that scene. Thank you both for sharing.

tbran. That story reminds me of the late great Rev Dr. N.W.Robison(and retired Bird Colonel) of the UT Martin Department of Agriculture. "Son that girl's got an a$$ on her like a Belgium mare".
