On the rear end housing of tractor, where top link bracket and draft control are, what was the reason Ford had the two outside ears (that are in line with top link pivot bracket)on the tractor. I know it cost lots more money to cast them like that. I have never seen a implement or accessory that goes there, but know they must of had a reason for doing it. It allows a pin from one side of tractor to the other side of tractor. I figured someone here would know. Thanks, Tracy

seems like I've seen the reason for them holes,, but for the life of me,, I can't remember what there for,, maybe I seen it on YT back years ago...

dang now I'm curious as well ! wonder if they're on the 9N and 2N as well ???? might be 'just' a manufacturing 'helper' ?? I know stuff that gets powder coated' have magical holes so they can suspend the parts being sprayed and heated...
