Still piddling around with the little G carburetor. The fuel bowl is directly in front of the carburetor and is basically attached by a small treaded tube. No flare or anything. What would you put on it to stop the leak? Some say Teflon tape will disintegrate after time and it's after the filter. What would you all suggest? Thanks in advance, Ryan

THREAD PASTE... some is made of Teflon (PTFE) and should work, .... the OLD STUFF was oil base and resistant to gasoline / oil / water..
Will Teflon tape stop a gas leak? What is Teflon Tape Used For? Standard PTFE tape is quite versatile and is used to seal water, gas, and air from leaking through threaded connections, most effective on high-pressure lines. However, there are also specialty thread seal tapes geared towards a specific task or need. Edited by steve(ill) - 10 Jul 2023 at 8:50pm |

Megaloc, get it at Menards, good for anything a standard professional will need , short of Nasa or hospitals. Good for any pipe or for what goes through it.

I've been using Permatex high temp thread sealant for decades. Never had a problem with it. I don't like to use Teflon tape especially in fuel systems. To much of a chance that stuff could break off and get into the fuel system and cause an issue. Just a personal preference. The Permatex P/N is 59285. Heck, you can get it at Napa...... ![]() Steve@B&B
