So when I put hydraulic fluid in my loader, it ends up transferring into the main housing and leaking through the overflow, and my loader stops functioning… there is a loader pump that mounts below the rear PTO shaft..is there a seal that could be bad, causing the fluid transfer? If so how difficult to repair? Thanks!

Which tractor? The 400 series loader usually had its own hydraulic reservoir in the left side upright support that was completely separate from the tractor. |

Tractor is a 5050, and yes, the reservoir is in the support… the pump is mounted to the rear just under the PTO shaft

Shaft seal on the pump. Pump shaft bearing/bushing may be bad. Might have to replace the whole pump.

Thanks, the pump seemed to be functioning properly with fluid, hopefully just the seal needs to be replaced
