I looked at a running gear today. It had 8 lug wheels, each of which had two 3/8" bolts holfing them on. One rim was rusted through, and the front axle had about a 20 degree bend to it. Oh yeah, the front turning spindles (king pins? not sure fo the terminology here) were seized and the entire tongue assembly was missing. The guy said it was a John Deere running gear, but he was not sure. It had cast iron hub covers about the size of a softball with a hex head cast on them.
He declined my offer of $25.
Anyone have a reasonable running gear close to western NC?
Adam
