D19 Brakes keep locking up, only the left wheel. Driving along and all of a sudden it will lock the left wheel solid and spin the right wheel. I took it apart and sanblasted the insides and cleaned up the 4 balls, but it didnt work. Any ideas?? I put it back together dry as I was told by many people.

Dad had a 185 that acted the same way. It ended up one of the springs holding the two halves and balls together was broken-same type of brakes.

Mine had slightly stretch springs that hold the bands out so I replaced the springs and that fixed it.

I would agree, needs new springs. Just re-did the brakes on my one-ninety XT, same style. I deciced at the last minute to put in all new springs, and I'm glad I deciced to. Was quite impressed when my local dealer had em all on hand. They sure do work well now. Darrel
