May be a silly question. How does the early 200 and 190 power directors work. We have a late 200 with the gated lever. How does those other lock in. there’s a detent right.  Just curious as I know with the gated lever when gate wears you can get slippage due to not engaged enough. Is there similar problems with old style. Thanks | |

On my 1966 190XT, the lever has to be pushed down to shift any direction. It is spring loaded and pops back up when in any 1 of the 3 positions. I guess this would be called a detent but I'm not totally versed in the component's technical terms.

Hey Mike how’s it going. My 200 has the gated PD lever and it works perfect. My 190 XT series 3 has the other style where are you push down out of the detent to move and it works perfectly also. To tell you the truth with a bad shoulder I have the XT is much more user-friendly than those slots on the 200.

My 190 has three locked positions you push down one the lever and move between. You can push it down and tease it a little.
