What has become of the AGCO parts book? I can't seem to find it. Looks like I may be needing an engine connecting rod for the D15 (160 engine). Can those be ordered as singles or a set?

OK, found it, and does look like can be ordered as a single. Next question is can you replace just one or should you do all 4 to match?

You can replace just 1 connecting rod... Make sure all 4 pistons match in design.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Not sure how it happened, but issue is a month or so back, after doing some light tillage work, engine first had change in sound....running ok, but sounded funny, and a few minutes later, very loud "clacking" from engine. Killed it immediately, and it then locked up. Started pulling stuff apart, and when head was removed, found a bent exhaust valve on top of piston. Apparently the retainer had let go and it dropped in. No apparent damage to the piston or sleeve.......but rod is suspect. Probably safest to replace it. No apparent damage to crankshaft. Rod bearing was heavily scored, and will need to be replaced. Anything else we need to worry about? Other than finding good gaskets to put it all back together with. Did an overhaul in 2021......finished in time to work hay in 2021. No problems or issues since, except several of the gaskets that came with overhaul kit failed. Head gasket leaked right off (replaced it with a vintage Fel-Pro), valve cover gasket and gasket over the governor all leaked pretty bad. Ran good, but leaked a lot of oil, which I detest. Metal in Reliance overhaul kits seems to be OK, but gaskets are all suspect.

No damage to the piston or sleeve?? I'll bet I'd be reusing that connecting rod. It's fine.

What kind of sealer did you use on gaskets?
I'm with Dr. rod is tougher than valve and piston. MACK

We used some copper spray on our head gasket a year and half ago. Perma gasket products on gaskets. No leaks. We did a complete out of frame rebuild due to the sump coming off the oil pump. Had varying oil pressure, that’s the reason we tore into it. Installed new oil pump. Cylinder 4 had scaring in the sleeve, we took no chances and did a full rebuild. Maybe overkill, but it was dad’s first new tractor so we gave it a brand new heart including having the crank and cam checked. Reliance rebuild kit including gasket set. Was pleased with the quality of the kit.
