I need the packing for the power needle in a Zenith carb on a D12. Can't find one anywhere. Just need the packing gland or something that will work. Thanks Tracy Martin

You might be able to use some cotton chalk line. I am not sure that the nylon would seal but it might. I have also used an O ring when one would fit in that type of application.
I worked in a place where we had to repack valve stems quite often. We used strands of cotton packing that was used to pack cast iron sewer pipe under the led seal. It had some type of tar based goo all thru it. We did use plain cotton chalk line on smaller valve stems. Edited by Dick L - 26 Sep 2010 at 9:01pm |
