What have you guys done to make a 3pt adapter for your WD45's? I would like one that goes on and leaves the drawbar attached to the tractor. At times it would be nice to have one but at the same time I don't need it bad enough to spend the $700 for an adapter. I see OKTractor.com sells a the bottom attachment point to bolt to the draw bar, as well as the top link plate to attach to the rockshaft. I have a John Deere 2155 parts tractor that has 3 point arms on it yet but needs new ends on the arms. What would you guys think about purchasing the bottom plate and the toplink attachement from Ok Tractor and using the JD arms with new ends and getting top links to attach the snap coupler lift arms to the 3pt arms. I read somewhere in a thread that someone thought the top links would buckle in this application. Just looking for second opinions here.

When you get done, you want it to work, right ?? So, the draft arms cannot be too long, or your lifting capacity will be reduced. The lifting links really don't need to be adjustable for length, unless you intend to moldboard plow with it. If they are at a good length, I doubt you'll ever change them. Good length would be go down low enough and be able to lift your implement high enough. The draft arms must be able to swing side to side for connection to the implement but yet still have a certain amount of side sway control to keep the implement from swinging into your rear tires. Several things to consider when building one from scratch.

I built my own with purchased parts from Theisens. The arms and lift links. Wish I had a picture for you. Took a little trial and error on the chains that limit the arm swing. Sold my snap coupler plow and blade (AC). Changed the other blade ( after market) to 3point. Do not have the strength to handle the snap coupler drawbar anymore. Also like that I can unhook a mounted equipment and don’t have to go back to the shop to put my drawbar back on to hook up something else. That assembly from OKTRACTOR looks very good.

That's probably the better way to go, I know it would work when I am done and it's not going to cost a whole lot more than piecing one together. Do you know what it means by No top link bracket required? Does it not include one if you select that? I would imagine the upgraded one would be better, if it worked fine why would they have changed the bracket.

All of mine have top link brackets! You cant use the 3-pt without a top link unless its with a semi-mount plow.

That top link they supply looks quite simple. Depending on your tools and steel that you have available.

I didn't design that 3 point hitch, but that's what I have on that tractor. I've never pulled a plow with it, but I've used the 3 point to move our 3 point hay rake and to run our blade with. Might give you a source of some inspiration. The only thing I don't like about that 3pt setup is the location of the center link bracket. I bought another WD parts tractor that has that piece around the "pipe" for the original snap coupler hitch. I like that setup much more- it just looks heavier duty than this one. That said, this one does work just fine

Aaron, That's what it must mean just a weird way of saying it. Matador thanks for the pictures these will be of help if I decide to build my own. I agree the top link location would be better on the rock shaft rather than the step plate. I don't plan on doing any plowing probably a blade and maybe a mower of some type. For now it would just be a rear blade.
