Hello to all and wishing everyone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and Happy holidays,,,Had something start happening on my D14 Industrial Loader Backhoe that I could use some help on. For the last 3-4 times I go to use the tractor, the forward/reverse will jump out and into neutral. If I hold it "in" for a short while it sometimes will stay in. Anyone got some suggestions on adjustments? Thanks in advance.

Assuming that the shim adjustment has been correct for years (no one messing with it and getting it uneven) usually jump out is an indication of the ramp plates/rollers being worn out. Cold oil jump out and then when warmed up it works better. Holding the lever in place for a bit helps too. High RPM's makes it jump out as well. No amount of shimming corrects this regardless of what people say. Make sure travel stop bolts aren't keeping the lever from making full stroke or a loose setscrew at the bottom of the hand lever or the fork inside the housing.
