I am trading in my old 2007 Mazda 3, but don't want to give it in with a full tank of gas. I am looking to get it around a 1/4 tank. I am not sure if a siphon hose will work going down the filler tube. I have heard they can get stuck in there. What's the best way to get some gas out of the tank? Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I can drive my F250 by it and the 460 will pull all of the gas out of it.

yep...use the smooth hose and if the hose does gits stuck trying to pull it out, shove it on in all the way, it won't take up much room in the tank.

Find the fuel filter and hook a small pump to the end that goes to the engine.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

Just tell the dealer you need $100.00 more on trade in.

I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

You could take the fuel line off the fuel rail and jump the fuel pump relay.

I attached a pressure tester to the port on the fuel injection rail and attached a hose to the relief valve on the tester. The car pumped out two five gallon cans of gas in short order. I think that is why the tester was designed that way.

Have a helper. Remove fuel line from carb. Have a pal use a rag with an air tank, put it in the inlet. Pump air into the tank. Easy.

I could probably put you in touch with my neighbor's kid. He sure seems to know how to get gas out of my tractors, if I happen to leave one outside.

drill 5/16" hole in btm of tank, put tray underneath first....when drained, plug hole with screw/rubber washer. do this when scrapping vehicles... really though ,how much gas is in it ? say 80L tank... 1/4 full is 20 L, so maybe 5 gallons. Up here that'd be $30 MAX, you... $15 ??($3/G). Only way you 'win' is if you're NOT worth $15/hr, cause it'll take you that long(or more) to empty it. Bad news is ..lower it too much, crap in btm of tank (water),gets into engine, won't start, dealer says 'nope...it ain't running like it was, deals off'.....

I agree Jay, NOT worth the effort for the insignificant gain. My wife will run a car damned near to empty to trade one in, asked her why and she just wanted her moneys worth yet will buy internet crap to sit on a shelf in a closet for $$ BOOCOO bucks and never see it as a loss or buys/throws away $$$ Healthy Foods I suppose she figures just having in the house and leaving to rot as taste bad is by proxy/Osmosis a Good Diet. None work out to her fantasy dreams.

Electric pump and long 3/8 hose will work but the pump will cost more than the tank of gas is worth! Leave it in or as stated---- DRIVE it out!
