WD45 lift arm lock?

Is there a way to lock the lift arms at a set height?  Mine drift up and down as I try to set a height.  The hold position is so small on the lever.  I have the traction boost unhooked.  My valve is turned all the way in on my regulator (top of hydraulic pump?  Just wondering.  I would prefer a pull rotary cutter, but had to use a three point with no center link.

Use a mechanical stop for the height you want set. I use limiting chains to set my desired height after out raise th EDC mower and turn around drop all the way down the chains stop it from going lower.

Where do you hook your chains to?  Top three point and ?? Do you have a photo?  I was worried about a chain breaking and wrapping around the PTO shaft or something like that....

When the "HOLD" position is working correctly, it is located about 1/2 way on the quadrant and has a "click" or detent in it to lock it. Yours isn't set-up right if you are hunting for it.

Dr. Allis, where is the actual detent located when the lever in in the middle of the quadrant?  is it on the hold valve?

It is indeed built into the hold valve. The front screw on the hold valve must be screwed OUT. The screw on the two plates needs to fully lock the plates together, which will make the detent work if it is functional.

That explains why mine is not working.  My screw is in and plate lock is disengaged.  Thank you Sir.

You can use hydraulic cylinder  snap-on stop collars on the rams.  Work fine so long as you don't have to change your height adjustment frequently.
