 Topic: Few pics of Corn Harvest 2010

Here are a few unloading pics from Corn Harvest 2010. My mom has more pics on her camera (actually quite a few!!!!!), but she has not had time to load them yet. I will post them when she does. Combine is a 64 Gleaner A2 with 330 head. Hauling tractor is 65 Allis 190, runs like a top, just a little LOUD with the strait pipe! So far looks like the field is producing appx 160-165 bpa, but I haven't got to the drown out areas yet. Also I was losing a little out of a hole in clean grain auger that I later noticed, and some out of the back of the machine (I think I may have that fixed now though). So between those two things it may be closer to 170bpa. Not bad for small patch and mostly sandy loam.

How was the yield this year? In this part of Michigan, all I can say, from looking at the fields, is it has to be exceptional.

-in my immediate area it appears that about half the corn crop is in the bin, no idea what the yield is but has been picture perfect all year-an exceptional year for moisture and temperature

Joe - you'll be surprised it won't be as high as you think in Central MO...ground was too wet this year for all the nitrogen to get used by the corn and some leached out....averages around Pilot Grove so far are about 140....vs 160-165 last year. Mike

Adam I had the same trouble with my A before I put the cob shield in like the pic below shows. With the cob shield in there I can run a lot more air across the back and get cleaner corn in the bin and have little to no corn going out the back.
I like my single rib tires on the back, they will stay on the row in mud.
Them old A's will put a lot of corn in the bin! Looks like you have your A2 runing good now.

John,
It looks to be producing appx 160-165 bpa, which is darn good for the type of ground it is. Its mainly sandy loam to strait sand. Don, I am going to move the walkers back as they are all the way forward right now. With the amount of trash I am getting from this corn coming out the back I need all the help I can get.

How do you all like my new fuel tank?? Old one was too shot. Got his one off of a Ford grain truck. Fit with a little modification. And the best part it has a fuel sending unit that I may use later on.

i also modified my walkers, but used hard wire, also spray the inside with slip plate, really works good!
