Finally got around to working on my Gleaner after a slow wet harvest here in SE Australia. Looking at throw in lever for separator it looks as if I am missing some parts to engage the clutch and the forks look damaged. Operating book doesn't show much detail of this area and I don't have a parts book. Could someone be able to please post a photo or details from a parts book.
Thanks, Richard ![]() ![]() ![]() Edited by WD in Australia - 29 Jan 2021 at 10:38pm |

My past A2 would have been "the same". That bearing that works the clutch has two round pins on opposing sides that the (bent) fork straddles. I think it was a cast piece that the bearing set in with a snap ring. Looks like the cast part may be gone? Otherwise the dust cover is missing but not a deal breaker. The 3 bolts in center piece hold it. I'll go look in agcopartsbooks.com for parts breakdown.
So, there should be a snap ring groove at outer end of shaft with zerk in it. It holds bearing on there and the missing block goes over the bearing and is held to the brg by a snap ring on the back side. You would put brg in block then install on shaft and secure with 2nd snap ring. Go to website ,click guest user, click brouse, find Gleaner, click parts books, click harvesters.click conventional and click C/C2. Scroll down to separator clutch. Get part numbers. "A" looks to be the same. I didn't compare pt #'s Edited by SteveM C/IL - 29 Jan 2021 at 11:07pm |

When is the last time that clutch has been engaged ?? Was this machine in a flood?? I'm only asking because we had to replace a "outward" part of a mechanically engaged clutch from a salvage yard, they would only sell the "complete " clutch unit off of a unit that set in the elements for who-knows-how long and it wasn't as rusty as your picture

Hi Jeff, This machine has not run for possibly 40 years. I have got the motor running but can't engage separator until this is fixed. Machine was not in a flood, the shed I got it from had a wet dirt floor and it was backed into a corner so it is just surface rust from the damp. No real hope of finding parts here in Australia so I am hoping I can make one up from looking at parts book. Unless someone has some parts they could sell.

If you look at G clutch you get a picture of that piece your missing. Better idea than drawing for A & C.

Thanks Steve for the tip. Drawing of C clutch was not that realistic. G makes sense. Looks as if the carrier part is possibly still available according to the website.

If you run into trouble sourcing parts, I should be able to help.
Like said above, dust cover is gone as well as the throwout bearing. Fork is bent. Do you still have the little lock tab for the clutch adjuster? should be held in by a machine screw. |

Gleaner: the properly engineered and built combine.
If you need parts for your Gleaner, we are parting out A's through L2's, so we may be able to help. |

Thanks Robert. I did some digging on AGCO parts website. I didn't realise the same clutch was used up to models like K2 which are a bit more common here in Australia. A mate of mine who was a contractor used to running a Gleaner K2 and had a wrecked one in the yard with a clutch and dust cover on it. It was just missing the bearing and circlips which I can get from AGCO. I should be all set now to fire her up for the first time in 40+ years.
