Hello everyone,
I have a few updates planned on some of our tractors as far as tires are concerned. I'm not huge on "correctness" but would like to be more so, if possible, when replacing tires. While "Harvest King" tires are completely functional they kind of just "don't ring true" for me. Can anyone tell me what original brands of tires were on the later D-series tractors, as well as the later 6000 series? I'm sure there are probably more than one or two, but wondering what anyone remembers as the "most likely" original brand(s) of rubber? Our best guesses right now are Goodyear and Armstrong. Thanks, all. TF Edited by Tom Feldpausch - 12 Jun 2020 at 7:04am |

Grandpa bought a new D15 in 1967, the farm and tractor are now owned by my brother.
Tractor has all original tires, Goodyear on both ends with 2 ribs fronts. Hyperpack

Late D-17's oft times had B.F. Goodrich 45 degree bar rear tires. 6000, 7000 and 8000 series were Firestone, Armstrongs and GoodYears. Don't remember any B.F.'s on them.

My series 4 D17 bought new on 1968 had Uniroyal front and rear tires on it. I was in the tire business starting in 1986. I changed out a lot of oe tires on many different tractors. Firestone Traction Field and Road were on a lot. Armstrong, now Titan were on a lot and Good Year too. Most of the oe tires are now no longer being made. You might find some Firestone Traction Field and Roads. In the 22+ years I was in the tire business, my Series 4 was the only tractor I saw with Uniroyal rears on it.
