The 17" round spoke front wheels on my WC (SN 317) are in bad shape. On one the spokes have been brazed and the rim is rusted beyond repair or use. The other may be salvageable. Has anyone had one of these re-rimmed? If so, by whom and how original did it look? Alternatively, please let me know if you have one or two for sale. Thanks. |

According to my wife, that's about $1795 more than I have to spend! |

I have a 28" UC rear rim that I am going to attempt to re rim this winter. I have been studying it and I think I can do it where it won't be noticeable.

I re-rimmed a pair of fronts for my WC project several years ago. They were 17" that had been re-rimmed to 16", and needed to be done again. I located two 16" X 4" rims in a salvage yard that were from the space saver type of spare wheels. Cut the centers from the spares and trimmed the rusted rims from the spokes and went at it. I'm in the process now of doing the rear 28" F&H spokes to 12" for 14.9 tires.
