I know that I am on a poasting frenzy but I would like to take this opportunity to say how proud I am to be a member of the greatest discussion forum on the planet. I am not saying this just because I am an Allis-Chalmers fan. I have looked at many forums including the Unofficial Minneapolis Moline forum, The Oliver forum through SSB, John Deere doesn't even have a forum, Dodge Talk forum, Mopar Tech forum, and the Cummins Diesel forum. None of these forums could come close to touching this one. All the other forums are outdated and often hard to navigate through, even for a 16 year old like myself, so I think that we all should give thanks to the moderators and the others in charge of this site and take pride in being members of the greatest online family that the internet has to offer.

You are a very well spoken 16 year old. I agree, we all need to remember how lucky we are to have this forum and should not take it for granted!

I agree!!!!
I have interests in another make of tractors, but due to the fact that so many of the forums dedicated to that brand are sometimes full of rude and arrogant posters, I find my way back to my other love...orange farm equipment. This is a wonderful forum full of friendly and helpful people.

I accidently found this site several years back just googling allis chalmeers to see what happened. I'm sure glad I did. You can go to other forums and the posts may be 2 or 3 years old. On here the posts are 2 or 3 minutes old. This is the busiest forum around and if you have a question you can an answer ASAP.JP

I have been bumming around here since 1999 and you are correct, there is no place like this. Darin always has been an expert moderator but I think it more has to do with Allis Chlamers people. An example of what I am talking about is despite the fact that the world is over populated with JD types the snobs cant even get along with each other for more than a few minutes thus no forum like this. My enjoyment of this place and A-C gatherings has a whole lot more to do with A-C people than being married to A-C equipment. If it was do to what I grew up farming with I'd be on an IHC page, if one exists?

I want to also thank Darin for a great forum. I've been here for the last 7 years since dad passed away when I was looking for a service manual for his one-seventy. It's been a great experience tapping into a wealth of knowlege from the members here. I have learned bunches!

I totally agree, Darin has a great site. The people that use it seem to be the best you could ever hope to meet also.
I would like to add, it's great to see the next generation showing interest in Allis Chalmers. |

Well said Butch! I'd be over on the Ford forum, and Deb and I would never have got to sit down and visit with you and your family over dinner. I have met many of the forum members in person, and can say that it is definately the people, the great tractors and equipment are just a huge bonus.
Thank you Darin!

I really don't know when I found this site - I think about 1994 when I got on the internet - but it has been a valued part of my life. Through this site I have met some of the finest people. Won't mention any names cause I'll forget someone and offend someone.
It is even more fun to meet at a GOTO or visit a fellow member. You are always welcomed as an old friend.
Darin, we all owe you a vote of thanks.
Good Luck!
Bill Long

You guys sure help a lot in many ways, thanks to Darin putting us together.
The history is non replaceable that I learn, Bill Long being there in his youth working with the new stuff, filling in details we have never heard (along with many others). I learn everytime I talk to someone, hopefully I can share something sometime. dieselplace.com , simpletractors.com, work good for me. I have to use thirdgen.org to move some Camaro parts, but get tired of the majority begging, cheap, punk kids. Larry |

A big ditto to all that has been said already. The accuracy and depth of knowledge on this forum is like no other out there. I sure could not have come as far as I have with my WD45 without the infomration provided from these great members.
Many Thanks!

I'll just add my 2 cents. No other place where people are so willing to help people they don't know and have no problem with the stupidest of questions. I'm hoping one day when I get time to actually spend time with my tractors, I'll be able to repay the favors given me. Jim

My connection to this site is a pretty complex story so I hope it dont bore you guys too badly. So about three years ago I was the typical stupid 13 year old who only really knew three things. That tractors and farming are a little neat, that Dodge trucks are the best, and that video games are awesome. Then we went with my uncle, who is a huge Case collector, to the Paris, Ky tractor show where I saw my first Allis-Chalmers. When I seen them I thought that they were pretty tractors but I was more interested in the Oliver with the 4-53 Detroit Diesel, I still want one :) But from that moment on I knew that I wanted to be around tractors my whole life. When I started looking at these tractors on the internet I found out about the demise of Allis-Chalmers and their contributions to the world. So then my mind was made up I was going to get an Allis and do all I could to preserve a vital piece of American history while telling my classmates all that they could stand to hear. Then about a year and a half ago we got the 1937 WC from a friend of my dad's for $500 but the wheels were rotted off and were didnt know how hard it would be to get it running again but with new tires, rims, and a weekend of tinkering later I had it up and running. While doing this I was looking for a place where I could find and connect with other people like me who thinks its their responsibility to prevent Allis-Chalmers from fading form memory and keep the spirit alive. That's when I found this site and the answer to my praying. Now I feel that Allis is not going anywhere and if anything might comeback! Most of all I realized that I wanted to become a diesel mechanic because I could do something I loved and then take the skills I learned and apply them to fixing and restoring my fleet of tractors. So I want to thank this site and the spirit of Allis-Chalmers for giving me a new look on life.
